After getting to Durbs we relaxed for our first evening with some beers and a braai. It was a truly South African braai with lots of different meat which we ate under the stars. I feel right back at home and Rich already loves the lifestyle out here.
Today we got woken up by the monkeys clambering over the roof. We soon discovered they had pinched our bar of soap (we have an outside shower), chewed most of it and spat it out on the front lawn. Stupid animals! But Rich loved them and I was soon ordered to take photos!
But the highlight of our day was the trip to the bottle store (off licence) and to Bluff Meat Supply (the butchers). Rich was SO impressed that all the beers are kept in a big walk-in fridge, we could barely get him out! And the butchers was amazing! It was a HUGE shop where they cut the meat fresh off the animal carcass
and then give it to you. We will definitely be going back (mostly because we are having braais almost every night… Rich is in his element)
So far we are having a great time, we plan to visit a shebeen and witch doctor next week, do our scuba course and go see some Zulu dancing.
Love Sue & Rich.
